The Silverado 1500 tackles challenging terrain and heavy equipment with ease. Under the hood, the standard powertrain features a 2.7-liter turbocharged engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel driveline. More powertrains are available by trim, including a 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine and a 3.0-liter Duramax turbo diesel engine with twin-speed automatic transmissions and electronic precision shift. The special-edition ZR2 Bison trim gets a 6.2-liter V8 engine that generates 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Thanks to a maximum payload of 2,260 pounds and a maximum of 495 pound-feet of torque, the Silverado 1500 can tow up to 13,300 pounds.
